In partnership with TENx10, a “collective impact” organization dedicated to making faith matter more to 10 million young people over the next ten years, the Conference Youth Leadership is offering a ten-week course centering on our purpose and prioritizing people over programs. The course is designed to guide thinking about our health as leaders, the health of our churches/ministries, the health of our volunteers or would-be team, connecting with families, being radically focused on Jesus, and working towards broader change in the world around us.
WHO TO INVITE: This is not just for professional youth leaders. All are welcome to join. We want to especially invite small churches or leaders from churches without a youth pastor. Even without an active youth group, this can help build a ministry. Invite children’s ministry and young adult ministry leaders; this opportunity provides insights that can benefit those working with Gen Alpha, Gen Z, and young Millennials alike.
WHY JOIN NOW: We have two more rounds of cohorts (beginning in April and July, respectively). Because this resource is grant-paid through the Lily Endowment and Duke Endowment, there will be no cost to those joining either cohort. Beginning in Q3 of 2024, the resource will remain available at a cost. We will also have a special gift for those who join in April or July.
WHAT TO EXPECT: This ten-week course raises important questions about building, maintaining, and/or revitalizing the youth ministry work happening at the local church level. With videos made by youth leaders in the NCCUMC as well as partner videos (such as Download Youth Ministry, EQ Saints, Ministry Architects, Arbor Research Group, and more), leaders can grow in the following six (6) areas: Building Relationships, Connecting with Families, Empowering Mentors, Growing Personally, Serving Others, and Teaching Focused on Jesus.
WHEN WILL COHORTS BEGIN?: The second round begins the second week of April. The third round begins the first week of July.
Please do not hesitate to contact me (dellis@nccumc.org or 513-307-7501) or Jason Villegas (jvillegas@nccumc.org or 910-249-3906) with any questions.
Thank you for all that you do. Prayers for continued fruit in ministry and that all may continue to know the love of Christ through our words and actions.
