Psalms 28:7
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to Him in song.
Matthew 11:28-30
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
The Lord is our strength and shield that is a satisfying assurance. The Psalmist abruptly says “I am helped” not maybe helped or I could be helped. We’ve got a whole book (the Bible) of stories chronicling the strength and protection of God for His children with amazing stories of “How God Helped”. I offer that if you are weary, burdened or feeling the yoke of life situations and ministry in the season we are journeying in – listen for that still small voice bidding you —- come to me. You know there is a lot of help that can be gained with just a few words (prayer) if we will just come unto Christ. Everything to God in prayer is a standard I have come to trust for I to need help in this Christian journey. Note, the Psalmist writer very emphatically proclaimed “I Am Helped”.
Friends, like the Psalmist, I to have been “helped” in my journey of faith and I will continue to trust in His loving care, amen.
