“Harken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged.” Isaiah 51:1 KJV
“If you want to do right and obey the LORD, follow Abraham’s example. He was the rock from which you were chipped.” Isaiah 51:1 CEV (I love this scriptural translation)
Remember – poor memory and the Christian walk doesn’t work well together. God constantly reminds His creation to remember who we are, whose we are, and please remember where you came from. As pastors we need to remember our call, remember our Baptism, remember our ordination vows, and remember the laying on of hands – we are not only a chip off of Abraham, we are a chip off the Son of God “Hallelujah” we are His. Pastors as Jesus journeyed thru this world, He went about doing good challenging the injustices He encountered. We are called to be change agents for we are charged to be the architects helping to build the foundations of change. Our society today is burdened with injustice, racism and inequality, may God help us to be the change agents for a transformed world. This is Black History Month may we be deliberate in our focus to this service. Remember we are a “chip off the old Block”.
Blessings,
