“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” – John 1:1
Jesus as “Revelation” – Jesus birth is a fulfilled promise, His life is a revelation of the nature and character of God so we can see and know Him firsthand. Jesus’ birth and life really establishes the teaching and standard of relationships (earthly and heavenly) and sends them into hyper drive. When I was in seminary, I would sit reading my professors book for class studies. As I read, I heard the professors voice speaking the text to me. The words of God and the prophets in the Old Testament are not written in red as Jesus words in the New Testament, we did however hear and know His voice. The Word has come alive. In the birth of Jesus, a whole new relationship with God is being born, further a new relationship with each other is now (being born) and birth into this world. Our vertical and horizontal relationships is being re-birthed in the birth of Jesus. Through Jesus, He will teach us how not only to relate to God and each other but He will teach us what kind of relationships God desires with Him and each other.
