“But as for me, I will look to the Lord, I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.”
The Prophet doesn’t have faith in humanity, but he declares his confidence in the Lord. For the Prophet Micah it is a personal, possessive relationship he claims with God as he proclaims these powerful words: “my God will hear me”. These words portray the prophets hope and promise that he has in God. His confidence exists on this foundation that he could walk, serve and pray to the creator of the universe and He (God) would hear his prayer. The prophet treats his understanding of God as a covenant relationship, we too can have this confident relationship that God will hear our pray as well. Celebrate these scriptures of promise:
Psalms 50:15 “He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.”
Psalms 91:15 “The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.”
Psalms 145:18, Psalms 145:19 “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer: and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”
Isaiah 65:24 “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”
Jeremiah 33:3 “Do you need more than this? The Lord hath said it, and he will make it good. He has never said to the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain.”
